Natural History: An extremely rare and possibly unique amber specimen containing a Pterosaur head, Hukawng Valley, Myanmar (Burma), Cretaceous, Weight: 23.690 grammes/118.548 carats, Dimensions: 50.49 x 43.65 x 21.84 mm. This is believed to be the largest head of a pterosaur (or any other animal for that matter) ever discovered in Cretaceous amber. It is likely that the head of this creature was extracted from a large piece of amber where the body and wings were sacrificed in an effort to reveal the pterosaur’s head and teeth more clearly.
