Anonymous sculptor (active in the 20th century)
Bust of a French Bourbon
White, partly ochre-coloured marble, set or patinated. On a column plinth life-size bust, three-quarters profile to the right, probably portrait of Grand Dauphin Louis (son
of King Louis XIV of France) in courtly costume with allonge wig, lace
jabot, sash and chain (probably of
the Order of the Golden Fleece) and breastplate with lilies in relief.
Stylistically, the bust follows the tradition of the two French
Baroque sculptors François Girardon (1628 - 1715) and
Antoine Coysevox (1640 - 1720), who both created a series of portrait busts for the royal court. H. 76 cm.

House of Bourbon probably Le Grand Dauphin Louis of France
