Large representative Art Déco
bookcase probably designed by Bruno Paul
Makassar, veneered. Straight, transversely rectangular corpus, flanked by inclined corner pilaster strips on a slightly curved, profiled frame
base. In the front three slightly recessed showcase doors with bevelled glazing and two high closed doors. Variable compartment division.
Cover plate corresponding to the carcase. Vertical and horizontal veneer panels covering the entire surface. H. 162 cm. 290 centimeters by 47 centimeters.
In its formal language and quality of execution, the furniture corresponds to
Bruno Paul's designs of the 1910s and 1920s, for example for the Vereinigte Werkstätten, the
Deutsche Werkstätten or the Berlin Zoo workshops.
