MAISON BOUHON Brothers.
Pair of chased and gilded bronze fires with a flamed Athenian decoration on a fluted half-column on a torus base of oak leaves. Facing each other, a pine cone surmounts a spinning top decorated with a water-leafed base. The whole is joined by a frieze of laurel leaves and applied post frieze.

Bouhon Frères, known as "Bouhon et Cie", specializes in the production of spark arrestors, fire chenets and fireplace accessories. This Parisian manufacture was awarded a gold medal at the Universal Exhibitions in Paris in 1878 and 1900, as well as in Brussels in 1897. A similar model sold at Christie's London on 12 December 2002 under number 131.
