Georges Thirion (1882-1946) was a blacksmith.
After learning ironwork techniques in Paris in 1900, he moved to Le Creusot where he worked on drilling chisels for the Schneider factories.
But above all, he set up as a locksmith and made his own art deco inspired works, thus earning his reputation by creating what seemed impossible at the time: the forge of lilac flowers.
