Tobias Lotter, copper engraved map of Northern Germany
top right splendid rococo cartouche and titled "L'Electorat de Hannover ... Tob. Conr. Lotter Geogr.", depiction of the area between the mouth of the Elbe in the north, Magdeburg in the east, Kassel in the south and Delmenhorst in the west, coloured copper engraving, about 1760, browned, framed under passepartout and behind glass, image size approx. 58 x 50 cm. Artist info: also Tobias Conrad Lotter, German map engraver cartographer and publisher (1717 Augsburg to 1777 Augsburg), from 1740 son-in-law and most productive collaborator of the cartographer and publisher Matthäus Seutter, 1740-44 he created the "Atlas Minor" under Seutter's supervision, after Seutter's death (1757) his son Albrecht Karl (1722-1762) and his son-in-law Lotter as well as G.
