light arcadian Italian summer landscape with women and donkeys against the backdrop of Lake Nemise in front of the steeply towering mountain scenery of Monte Cavo in the Albanian mountains. Müller-Klunzinger (1870) wrote about this: "... and soon gained the reputation of an excellent master.
