Dedication handwritten in green ink on the preliminary page: “A Silvio Baldessari. Gracias! Pablo Neruda. Buenos Aires, Agosto, 1958”. There is a dedication handwritten in green ink by Pablo Neruda on the half title “A Homero, gran poeta y amigo. Pablo Neruda. 1970”. The colophon is signed in green ink with the autograph: “Pablo Neruda”. Original first edition. Original cover. Copy number 6, printed specially for Homero Arce Cabrera. In the colophon is a signature handwritten in green ink: “Pablo Neruda.” The colophon states: Original first edition. Printing was completed on the 18th August 1958, 20th anniversary of the publishing house Editorial Losada. The graphic elements were directed by Andrés Ramón Vázquez and Silvio Baldessar, who also designed the cover. Most of the drawings were taken from the Libro de Objetos Ilustrados (Book of Illustrated Objects), printed in San Luis de Potosi, Mexico, in 1883, others belong to the edition of the Complete Works of Jules Verne illustrated by P. Ferat. The drawing which accompanies the poem No tan alto, is by José Guadalupe Posadas. The wife of the poet, Matilde Urrutia, and H. Arce Cabrera collaborated on the selection of these materials. 50 copies were also printed that were not for resale, numbered 1 to 50 and signed by the author.”
