An Egyptian banded alabaster alabastra, late Period - Ptolemaic, 7th - 2nd Centuries B.C., the smaller thin-walled example with short cylindrical neck and everted rim, with vestigial lug handles and rounded base, 6.8cm high
Provenance: Purchased in the 1960s in Cairo by the British Ambassador to Egypt Sir Harold Beeley KCMG CBE (15 February 1909 - 27 July 2001)
