A Qur'an, late Safavid Iran, late 17th/early 18th century, Arabic manuscript on paper, 211ff. plus one fly-leaf, each folio with 19ll. of black naskh script, with gold and polychrome roundel verse markers, sura headings in red thuluth script in clouds on gold ground within cartouches, text within gold and polychrome rules, opening folio with gold and polychrome illuminated margins and text in clouds over gold ground, with added marginal comments in fine shikasteh script, sura titles in each top corner in shikasteh script, colophon possibly signed, one seal impression with date of AH 1187, in original lacquer covered binding, text panel 9.8 x 5.1cm.; folio 13.8 x 8.5cm.
