Lot 264

Round pedestal table called "Guéridon aux Maréchaux" in satin veneer resting on a central shaft on a cylindrical base decorated with stars and acanthus leaves in chased and gilded bronze.
The tray is decorated in the centre with a bowl in Sèvres porcelain painted with a full-length portrait of Emperor Napoleon I in coronation garb, after Baron Gerard, set in a baguette chiselled with water leaves. It is bordered by seven round porcelain plates set in the veneer depicting the marshals of the Empire (Lannes, Massena, Soult, Duroc, Ney, Bessières, Desaix) alternating motifs of chased brass masks or palmettes.
