Lot 240

Portable dytic sundial made of ivory and silvered brass, rectangular in shape. It contains a polar and equinoctial dial and a calendar with moving parts in the lid, a built-in compass with an analemma dial, and on the reverse, under the instrument, a circular perpetual dial with a wheel acting on the analemma and engraved with calendar indications. The bottom of the compass is made of paper and bears the locations of various cities.
