In 1932, Marcel Damboise was commissioned by the State to build a monument for the town of Fondouk, located about twenty kilometres east of Algiers. He extracted the head of the female figure from this monument and published it in terracotta and bronze. One of the bronze proofs is exhibited in 1938 in the Svensk-Franska Konst gallery in Stockholm, famous for having defended independent sculpture (Maillol, Laurens, Manolo, Malfray, Osouf...).
