"YATAGAN" OTTOMAN DATED 1291 A.H./1874-75 with a
walrus ivory lugged handle, the silk decorated with streaked coral tears, the hilt and its extension decorated with filigree decoration. The curved steel blade, with a strong gutter, is decorated on the back with a finial inscribed with the maker's name 'Abdu' and a long stylised silver-damascened inscription along the gutter inscribed 'work of Muhammad Sahib' and dated 1291 / 1874-75. The wooden scabbard is covered with brown leather and silver trim. (Wear).
