"YATAGAN" OTTOMAN DATED 1289 A.H./1872 with a
walrus ivory lugged handle, the silk decorated with streaked coral tears, the hilt and its extension decorated with filigree and gilt decoration. The curved steel blade, with a strong gutter, is decorated on the back with a finial inscribed with the maker's name 'Amal Muhammad 1289 / 1872' and a long stylised inscription inlaid with silver along the gutter. The wooden scabbard is covered with black leather and decorated with scrolls of vegetal stems. (Wear and tear, small accidents and missing parts).
