Short history of the Chronology of the World by Extract of the Epochs before J. C. and of the Order of the Centuries since J. C.S. l. n. d. [1750-1760]Synthesis of ancient, biblical and modern histories put in extracts and intended for the Duke of OrleansManuscript. In-4 (222 x 172mm). Collation: 47 pp. in brown ink, about 17 lines on the page, each page framed by a double-sided net also in brown ink, with more than 50 unwritten pp. Binding of the period. Green morocco, gilt decoration, coat of arms in the centre of the covers, triple fillet framed with a rosette at the corners, long spine decorated and gilt with a long title, gilt endpaper with a star motif, gilt edges. Provenance: Duke of Orleans, Knight of the Holy Spirit. A few small moroccostains The manuscript offers no possible date and no other manuscript of the same title is traceable. The Duc d'Orléans, Knight of the Holy Spirit, for whom this manuscript was written and bound, is therefore probably Louis-Philippe d'Orléans (1725-1785), Knight of the Order on 5 June 1740 and Duc d'Orléans in February 1752, more certainly than the future Philippe-Égalité, Knight of the Order in May 1762 and Duc d'Orléans in November 1785. It should be noted that the pieces of arms and the label have been pressed with a small iron and are not part of a block.
