A Fragment of a Child's Head
Etruscan 3rd-2nd cent. B.C..
Terracotta. H. 16.6 cm. W. 7.5 cm
Face with childlike features. Chubby cheeks. Snub nose. The hair lies close to the head and is brushed forwards into the face. Hollow. From a votive statuette. Condition: Brownish deposits, below which traces of reddish paint are visible in a few places. Encrusted between the neck and chin. Whitish deposits in the interior.
