The letters contain mainly answers from sculptors, painters, architects and craftsmen to Beyer's request for photographs and further details of works for a handbook planned with Otto Bartning on the new Protestant church construction, which was to be published in 1957 by Callwey-Verlag. In 1959, Otto Bartning and Willy Weyres gave this book the title "Kirchen. Handbook for the Construction of Churches". - Among others, letters from: Otto Bartning (tls. to third parties), painter Hubert Distler, Mrs. Hayno Focken, Cornelia Forster, Walter Supper (Society of Organ Friends), Elsi Giauque, Erich Glauer, Markus von Gosen, Gottfried Gruner, Angela Gsaenger, Inger and Olaf Leonhard Gulbransson, Siegfried Guggenheim, Herbert Hajek, K.L. Heise, Gerhard Hauss, Karl Hemmeter, Stephan Hirzel, Heinrich Hoffmann, Emil Homolka, Ingeborg Jebsen von Geyso, Heinrich Kirchner, Adolf Kleemann, Erhardt Klonk, Günther Kohlhaus, Hugo Kükelhaus, Hans Mettel, Waldemar Otto, Arnold Rickert, Heinrich Sattler, H.A. Sigg, Alfred Schöpffe, Johanna Schütz-Wolff, Dagmar Schulze, Ruth Velin, Heinrich Otto Vogel etc, from various Institutions (Kirchlicher Kunstdienst Hamburg, Kunst-Dienst der ev. Kirche Berlin, building and church offices, magistrates, publishers, associations etc. as well as by Oskar Beyer himself (signed copies and already signed drafts). - Tls browned due to the paper, only occasional minor blemishes, in all well preserved. - Including: work of art and work of art in the church (hs. RTitel). Collection of c. 390 mostly large-format OP photographs. Mainly silver gelatine prints, some color photos. Format from about 10.5 x 6.5 to 29 x 21 cm. Mostly mounted on paper sheets, perforated in 2 ring binders. - Each with a note on the edge of the sheet on the artist and location of the work. - Many works by the above-mentioned artists, also by Schmidt-Rottluff, Gottfried von Stockhausen, Chr. Oehler, Rudolf Büder and many others - photographs of the altar and chancel, cross and crucifix, candlestick, communion device, book design and many more. Bush writing, baptismal font, baptismal font and stand, pulpit and reading desk, pews, paraments, floor carpets, windows, murals, sculptures, writing - The photos (partly on various Agfa photo papers) on the back side with typogr. and hs. and stamps (Otto Bartning, Hubert Distel, H. Mettel, G. Gruner, Sofia Widén, Joachim Peter, Werkstätte Eira Ahola, photographers Emil Leitner, A. Wiedenbach, Alf Schreyer, Artur Pfau, Höch, E. Rossel, Woscidlo, Copyright Abel G.D.L., Emil Maurer etc.) - Leaves browned due to the paper and torn off at the perforation, photos altogether well preserved.
