Silver plated champagne bucket, ribbed body raised on pedestal base, with ribbed handle, approx 21 cms h, approx 22 cms d, with regimental insignia.
Note: Major Brian Ferguson Watts (1925-2019) served with Durham Light Infantry, York and Lancaster Regiment and the 2/10 Gurkha Rifles. He was operational in Malaya, India, Nepal, Greece, Swaziland and Germany, where he met his wife. He was much admired and respected by his colleagues, becoming one of the youngest majors in the British Army at the time. After retirement from active service he work as Station Staff Officer in Detmold Germany and later was the secretary of the Weser Vale Hunt between 1969 and 1980, he was a great horseman and enjoyed riding to hounds.
