Jean-Baptiste Weyler (1747-1791), Second half 18th century, A portrait miniature of Wolter Jan Gerrit Baron Bentinck (1745-1781), set in a 18 carat gold frame surrounded by 136 brilliant cut diamonds. Signed 'Weyler' (lower left). Bentinck was a Dutch naval commander and fought in the Battle of Dogger Bank in 1781, under the command of rear admiral Johan Arnold Zoutman. He was honoured with a state funeral and a tomb in the Nieuwe Kerk in Delft. Portrait: 3,5 x 2,9 cm, the frame: 4,5 x 4,2 cm, Provenance: from a Dutch noble family. Second half 18th century,
