Fully engraved atlas, complete with an illustrated title, a dedication page illustrated, drawn and engraved by Benoist, a map index, and 39 numbered maps, including 6 folders (double counting in the numbering) : world map, Europe, Asia, East Indies, Africa, West Africa, North America, South America, Canada, West Indies, Great Britain and Ireland, England (2 sheets), Scotland, Ireland, Spain and Portugal, Portugal, France (3 sheets), Flanders, Switzerland, Italy, Germany (7 sheets), Hungary, Poland, Prussia, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, Russia (2 sheets), Turkey of Europe.
Beautiful pocket atlas, whose maps were engraved by Thomas Kitchin, with the outlines coloured at the time. Most of them have a title in French in the upper margin. The folding map of Canada shows New England and the Great Lakes.
Good copy. Scrubbed caps, corners and bits. Some freckles. The first sheet of the map of England is cut very short, with part of the French title truncated.
