Painter, draughtsman and graphic artist (1894 Dresden to 1978 Dresden), studied 1915-18 at the Kunstgewerbeschule Dresden with Margarete Junge and Paul Rößler, 1918-24 at the Academy Dresden with Max Feldbauer, Otto Hettner and Otto Gußmann, undertook study trips to Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, France (Paris) and the CSR, from 1925 freelance, member of the Dresden Secession 1925/26, 1930-31 member of the artists' group "Aktion", which subsequently merged with the New Dresden Secession in 1931, 1930-32 member of the Free Artists' Association of Saxony, 1929-33 experiments with ceramic painting in the Meissen manufactory, from 1936 land studio in Laske near Kamenz, 1944 exhibition and sales ban, from 1947 member of the artists' group "Das Ufer" in Dresden, member of the Association of Visual Artists (VBK) of the GDR, active in Dresden, source Vollmer, Eisold "Artists in the GDR" and Internet.
