QUEEN REGENCE FABRIC in moulded and carved walnut, the back is decorated with a scrolled backrest cushioned by a flower with an asymmetrical stem surrounded on one side by leaves and on the other side by a flower. The shoulder with acanthus leaf motifs, the armrests with cuffs resting on cambered brackets, the belt decorated with a flower surrounded by leaves. Four arched feet have fleurttes in the spandrels, ending in acanthus leaves, and are joined by an "X" spacer adorned in the centre of a fleurette. Regency period. Decorated with a tapestry of small dots with floral motifs. Height. 93.6 Width. 67 Depth. 67.5 cm. (posterior spacer). Provenance: descendant of Jean Marie-Pie Michel Claret (1805-1886), architect-decorator of Napoleon III and protégé of Baron James de Rothschild.
