Pair of large SPLACES in carved and gilded wood, with four light arms on two registers in the shape of acanthus bases. Baroque openwork decoration of natural leaves, acanthus scrolls, palmettes, acanthus florets, shells and geometric motifs. Italian work, mid 18th century. Height. 100, Width. 42 cm. Provenance: descendant of Jean Marie-Pie Michel Claret (1805-1886), architect-decorator of Napoleon III and protégé of Baron James de Rothschild. Pair of large carved wooden sconces.
