Pair of putto candelabras
Height: 43 cm.
Rome, c. 1780.
On a square white marble base the fluted and finely chiselled ormolu base with a naturalistic base, from which the two knot-like arms for the two firing points with laurel leaf decoration grow, which are divided into two levels. These are held by a burnished putto with a cloth covering his shame and vine leaves surrounding him, which identifies him as a Bacchus boy. Minimal dam. (1240381) (1) (13)
