Figuratively designed writing instrument in the shape of
a Kerberos

According to Greek mythology the three-headed dog guarding the underworld. The animal on a triple indented flat base in grey Russian porphyry, the eyes set with rubies, the collars gilded and decorated with palmette decoration in relief. The necklaces are gilded with chains, the mouths are decorated with plates, a candle holder, an ink pot with lid and a loosely placed pot of gritting sand. At the base, connected by a golden chain, is a cylindrical column truncated with three upper openings for inserting the pens. Elegant overall effect, emphasizing the contrast between burnished bronze and gilding. (12401334) (11)
