Pair of monumental bronze candelabras
Height: 182.5 cm.
Italy, 19th century.

Bronze, cast, patinated. Pair of monumental bronzes designed after Annibale Fontana (1540-1587). Fontana worked as a sculptor, medalist and crystal worker. He not only created sculptures, for example for the church of Santa Maria presso San Celso, but also produced numerous handcrafted designs, which also form the basis of the present pair of candelabras. For example, he made an identical pair of candelabras for the Certosa di Pavia. One of the spouts is a little crooked. (1241062) (13)
