Strict construction in the form of a gold-plated, four-sided semicircular base over crushed spherical feet. It is surmounted by four winged lion sphinxes which support the strictly high rectangular case, with a round-arched lower front cut-out for viewing the pendulum eye with the head of Medusa surrounded by ray gloriole. The upper drawer is semicircular on all sides, crowned by a low small plinth with an oval classicist bowl standing on it. A snake motif is applied in front of it, which, gilded like the rest of the decoration, stands out from the burnished work case. The white enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes is framed by an engraved ring with a halo of rays and finely chiselled hands. On the sides oval gilded applications with music trophies. Eight-day movement, pendulum on metal spring suspension.
The English watchmaker's workshop worked in Paris, as the mark on the movement plate on the back shows. The serial number is also stamped here. (1240784) (1) (11)
