Copy in contemporary binding, with all figures colored. This anonymous chronicle is better known under the Latin title Cronica Cronicarum. It relates the Creation, the Old and New Testaments, then details the genealogy of the kings of France and, at the end of the book, the kings of England. The reading of this genealogy continues, throughout the work, is done by double page, horizontally. It is punctuated with "rondeaulx", that is to say small medallions where the names of kings and great figures are inscribed, and where, sometimes, they are represented. Views of towns, including one of the oldest engraved representations of Paris (f. G2r) and coats of arms can also be seen. All the illustrations in our copy were coloured in at the time. Richly illustrated with woodcut figures and roundels, here exceptionally colored at the time (light wetness in the lower margin of most of the leaves, scattered dirt and freckles, worm work in the lower margin of the JJ-MM notebooks, some tears in notebook A). Complete of the fourth sheet, white, which is often missing. Some marginal annotations contemporary with the edition. Vellum from the period (some restorations).
