Mahogany pedestal table. The circular table has a white top surrounded by a moulded border flanked by four gilded copper balls and interrupted on one side. The belt opens with two drawers and a pull-out for writing facing each other, and two hinged semi-circular compartments. They are separated by small rosette springs and two gilt copper flutes. To their plummets are attached square and tapered legs with copper flutes and tapered corners. They are joined by a crotch shelf with curved sides and edged with gilt copper moulding. Moulded capitals and clogs in gilt copper. Germany, late 18th century. Height. 75,5 cm Diam. 67,5 cm. (Reinforcements and old consolidations). Provenance: Osenat 29 June 2008 lot 68 The Collections of the Hotel Masseran. This beautifully finished pedestal table is naturally in the dominant style highlighted by David Roentgen in Germany in the years 1770- 1790. It could be a Berlin work.
