The ovoid body in marble with torso sides is set in a gilt bronze frame decorated with foliated scrolls and acanthus leaves. Signed Henri Vian (1858 - 1904) They rest on a fluted column made of moulded and carved wood with an ionic capital and falling drapery. 19th century H candelabra: 86 cm H columns: 93.5 cm Henri Vian, a famous bronze-maker active in the second half of the 19th century, made many interior decorations: fireplaces, bronze vases, chandeliers, balustrades... all of the best quality. The company, located at 5, rue de Thorigny in Paris (the Hôtel Salé, now the Picasso Museum), continued under the direction of Madame Vian after the death of her husband in 1904.
