From an engraving by Charles Le Brun (1619-1690), the drawing shows Mary kneeling before the high priest inside the temple. The high priest wears the Hoshen, a pectoral with twelve stones representing the twelve tribes of Israel; and is accompanied by two acolytes and a priest at the back. Mary is accompanied by her parents Saint Anne and Saint Joachim. Background of neo-classical columns and balusters.
