Marc Antoine Gaudin (1804-1880) and Alexis Gaudin (1816-1894)

Photographer's Booth, Florence 1854 exhibition Stereo daguerreotype (1/6 plates) original mount, glass replaced. In November 1851, Alexis Gaudin bought and saved the newspaper La Lumière. His brother Marc Antoine became its chief scientific editor. Very quickly, Gaudin's house grows and becomes one of the most important houses dedicated to photography, distributing books about photography, prints from all over Europe (simple and stereoscopic), their correspondent in Italy is Bernoud. Since the publication of the famous daguerreotype of Baron Gros, as the cover image of the poster of the Metropolitan Museum of Art French daguerreotype exhibition, not many indoor representations of a photography-related display have appeared.
