VAN ORLEY, Richard II (circle of) Garden landscape. 17th c Drawing, black chalk, 19,1 x 31 cm, laid paper with Brussels watermark (St Michael), unsigned (sm. tear at left edge). Under passe-partout. Idyllic garden with classical Doric ruins and a statue of Hercules fighting the Nemean lion. The composition is similar to drawings and paintings by Richard van Orley (1663-1732), who was adapting his style to a more French taste on the European art market by the 2nd half of the 17th century. Joined: Anonymous - Female city allegory on a chariot pulled by lions. Dutch school, 18th c. Drawing, pen and black ink with grey wash, 20,5 x 31,5 cm, laid paper with watermark (Pro Patria) (some creases and min. stains). Under passe-partout. (2 pcs)
