ROPS, Félicien (1833-1898). Letter to "mon cher Adolphe [Popp]", Paris, n.d. (1870's). Ms. in pencil on 2 sheets of laid paper, signed 'Fely', r° only. 210 x 134 mm each. W. sketch in pencil by the artist representing a hiker (Rops?) with a backpack and a dog on a leash. (Drawing and text on the first leaf slightly run out, the second leaf laid down on paper mount). -- Added: HELIOGRAVURE COUPON, signed by Rops, dated Paris, 1 January 1887, stating that Adolphe Popp is entitled to a copy of the album 'Œuvres Colmes' (?). Printed on certified paper and w. tax stamp. 96 x 245 mm. -- (2). NOTE:Ad 1: Letter to Adolphe Popp (1838-1895) (the adressee becomes clear from the postscript). Rops explains why he failed to meet Popp as agreed, due to a missed train. He promises Popp to send a sketch of Blankenberge "une jolie Blankenberguade" where he worked in 1873. He also mentions his Paris address.
